wife asking for more money than they spent in mutual divorce

We got married on 3 January 2021, and she left the house in April after miscarriage.
Now she is demanding 8 lakhs whereas my estimation is they didn't spend more than 2 lakh.

are you looking for a divorce by Mutual consent or is this a case of contested divorce ? being married for 3 years you can file for a mutual divorce which would be a better option for both the parties. the issue about amount will be settled in the settlement agreement.

well, it doesn't matter what she demands, but what you and she decide by mutual understanding. Also, I am sorry to say, it also doesn't matter what your estimate is. unless you have some exigency to show, your petition for divorce by mutual consent can be entertained only after one year of the marriage, before which you will have to establish such exigency for waiver of such statutory period

If u r Hindu u can’t take divorce in the first year of marriage until there is exceptional hardship ….rather u can’t even take divorce out of court …u need to file mutual divorce u/s 13b of HMA……n then have to go via two motions
