What is the process of child custody for an 8 year autistic child

My child is autistic (special kid) and cannot give his opinion on chosing parent, what is the process of child custody for such kids and who usually will get the custody in India in such cases, mother or father ?

hi the judgment in custody cases would depend on various factors lile the financial capacity and closeness and usually the courts would grant cuatody to mother as the child is below 8 years as he might need special care and it may hrant visitation rights to father
