What is the current status of talaq process under muslim law
29-Aug-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Hi, I was about to start my talaq process and heard about the Supreme Court's stay on the Triple Talaq. Could someone please let me know how to proceed with the talaq process. The complete muslim talaq process is on hold? If yes, then for how long?
Hi
The current Talaq process has been declared unconstitutional by the Supreme court.
Henceforth Divorce can be obtained under Muslim personal law, but through the family court.
You are now required by law to approach the family courts to obtain divorce and the process will take anywhere between 18-24 months.
