We belong to a Hindu family. My brother got married Feb 2022. The wife of my younger brother is harassing us for over a year. She left house a year back and now creating issues in Society. She denies for mutual divorce and keep on threatening my family to go in court. We have tried to solve this multiple times but the lady and her family is not responding. We don't know what to do. it is mentally harassing my parents and brother.

First your brother can send a legal notice to her stating that either we can solve the matter amicably or you will take the other legal recourse available to you i.e., contested divorce on grounds of cruelty (mental harassment). If in case she creates and scene or any ruckus and if she even harasses your mother then in that case kindly file a police complaint in your mother’s name for the harassment caused by the daughter-in-law. For detailed consultation I would require more details. Feel free to contact me for any further legal assistance.

First of all rather than going legally you should serve your partner a legal notice as to why he/she is doing all these and try to figure out what's going on in his/her mind regarding you. After that if he/she fails to give you satisfactory reply then you can anytime send a complaint regarding your grievances in writing to the police station of your area. But if you are willing to stay with him/her then you should file a petition under section 9 HMA for calling back your partner in your matrimonial life. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Dear Sir First of all, you need to ask your younger brother to make up his mind as to what he wants to do with this marriage, if he wants to be with the girl then he may file a petition for Sec. 9 HMA and get a separate accommodation with her away from you all or else he may file a petition for divorce in the concerned family court. For detailed information you may consult me.
