Wanting divorce case to move but neither parties compromising

28-May-2024 (In Divorce Law)
I’m divorced. I’m in a relationship with a man who has been separated for three years. His wife left him taking his two daughters. She has filed a maintenance case on him and is demanding an unreasonable amount. He doesn’t want to give in as he will lose his entire savings and money fully. She is not willing to compromise and he also isn’t. We want the divorce. But he hasn’t filed divorce hoping she would compromise and ask for it.

hi Felix here, I can well understand your concern from the query raised, without the parties having resolved one cannot proceed with the petition for divorce, either one party should go for a contested divorce or by mutual consent and pressure cannot be laid upon them by others, you can contact me for further clarifications, thank you

not clearly stated what the remedy you want whether you want a divorce with I was wife and you want to marry that person so you must clearly explain the position of what you need in case of maintenance the court will award only the normal maintenance not an extraordinator maintenance as claimed by the wife
