want to divorce as he is alcoholic person

3 year back i got married .i was an arrange marriage. venue was marriage hall near my home .around 1000 people attended that marriage. after marriage from groom side they are not interested to register the marriage. 6 months we lived together .he is an alcoholic person.i need separation/ divorce from him. what is the legal procedure for this issue.i belongs to Hindu religion.
You can claim divorce from your husband as per Section 13 a of Hindu Marriage Act. the only thing is that you have to allege and substantiate any of the grounds for divorce as mentioned in the section. Just because the fact that he is an alcoholic is not sufficient for the same. But as you consult an experience lawyer, he could be able to guide you through the matter and get it done.

as per hindu marriage act u can get divorce. But alcoholism is not recognised as a valid cause for divorce under our system. Yet the end result cruelty is a ground associated damages to u n ur property is also a cause for divroce. Cruelty based divorce is a common one n with sufficint proof u will get divorce. Consult ur lawyer. Also try to settle things if u gt a kid in the wedlock. Think n take a decission

You have to file divorce petition before the family court on ground of cruelty. you should specifically plead the cruelties of the husband and give some oral and documentary evidence to substantiate your stand. in my opinion you should have filed
a maintenance petition before the family court, after you have to wait for the husband's stand on the matter.
