Urgent Legal Advice – 10-Day Deposit Direction & Coercive Steps

30-Aug-2026 (In Divorce Law)
The Court directed that the amount be deposited within 10 days, failing which the courts below were directed to take “coercive steps” to secure the deposit. So my question are as follows. 1.What application/remedy should be filed before the 10-day period expires to protect against coercive action? 2.If the respondent cannot make the required lump-sum deposit due to lack of present financial capacity(no job at present), can he seek payment by installments from the High Court.

You can seek enlargement of time by feeling application under section 148 CPC there is a specific provision for that You can seek installments but it is the courts discretion you don’t have an absolute right But if you make a request courts normally are inclined but still You will have to show bolna fide by depositing some time
