Since both of you are majors and the relationship was consensual, merely breaking a promise to marry is not automatically a criminal offence. As per settled law laid down by the Supreme Court of India, a case arises only if it can be proved that from the very beginning she never intended to marry you and made a false promise only to obtain consent. That requires very strong evidence. Based on what you’ve stated, this appears to be a failed relationship, not a clear criminal case. However, your chat proofs need proper legal examination before giving a final opinion. If you wish, you may consult in detail so we can assess whether any legal remedy is realistically available.

From the facts stated, merely promising marriage and later refusing to marry does not automatically amount to a criminal offence. The key legal issue is whether, from the beginning, there was a false promise with dishonest intention only to obtain physical relationship. If it can be shown through chats, conduct and surrounding circumstances that she never intended to marry you and induced you into a relationship by deception, you may explore legal remedies for cheating or other appropriate offences. However, if the relationship was consensual between two adults and the decision later changed due to personal or family reasons, courts generally do not treat it as a criminal case. At present, the most practical approach is to avoid emotional or impulsive legal action. You may first send a legal notice seeking clarity and closure, and preserve all electronic evidence. If you have suffered financial loss or specific damages based on her representations, a civil claim may also be examined. Before initiating any proceedings, it is advisable to have a detailed legal consultation to evaluate the strength of evidence, legal risks and appropriate strategy, as such matters are highly fact-sensitive and improper action may backfire.
