Shall i pay less Maintenance amount rather than what ordered.

04-Jun-2024 (In Divorce Law)
Family court ordered me to pay 15000 p.m interim maintenance to my wife. She left within 4 months of marriage and currently living with her mother. My salary is 35000p.m and court ordered me to pay 15000 p.m to my wife. Shall I Pay less amount rather than the ordered amount? like 5000 p.m? what are the consequences and how to tackle them?

Hi Good Afternoon, As the court pass order to pay 15000 pm to wife. if you have the money issue then you don't have pay monthly maintainance. their are various provision in the law for the payment of maintainance. various supreme court and high court judgement itself say that if husband does not have sufficient amount to pay for maintainance then pay it partly. you have multiple legal remedies are available for non payment of maintainance. for more details and querries then kindly contact us and visit our website.

We have to challenge the interim order in appellate court, giving reasons for reducing the amount of maintenance such as she is well qualified to earn or she is having sufficient earning for her livelihood or she is having extramarital affair so she is not eligible for maintenance
