Second wife file case against our family

My husband married the another girl without divorce. Now he leaves that girl, and joined with our family. Now that girl can complain any case?? If she files any case, will my husband got punished??

hi Felix here I can well understand your concern from the query raised, it amounts to bigamy if he had married her performing all the rituals and shall be tried, otherwise he shall be booked for cheating and criminal breach of trust, thank you, you can contact me for further clarifications

The first wave can always file a criminal complaint against the husband for performing second marriage without granting divorce, provided the husband is a Hindu or a Christian. The same provision will not be applicable for Muslim.
