Request for Legal Help Regarding Divorce and Maintenance Claims

10-Jan-2025 (In Divorce Law)
My mother is seeking a divorce after 21 years of marriage. She is financially dependent on my father, and we, their children, are both in college. Can my mother claim maintenance for herself and for us as children? What legal steps can she take to ensure she receives alimony and financial support, and what actions can she take to protect herself during the divorce process?

If your mother has not already filed the divorce petition, , in the same case she can seek interim maintenance for the period of proceeding also. As for you, it appears that you are still below the age of 18 and she as mother can file for maintenance representing you as guardian if your father is not voluntarily supporting you.
