I have filed for divorce in a foreign country, I do not want myself and my family(parents, brothers, sisters) to get into trouble with the wife, what are the precautionary measures to be taken?

If you are the citizen of that country and your wife is contesting it there already. there won't be any repurcussions. But, if you are the citizen here and and your wife is unaware of the proceedings in US. the chances of facing legal consequences are much higher.
