Promise to marry and then denied

My boyfriend since 2014 broke up with me by Jan 2022 when I was ill with corona. He made his mom talk in a ill way when I approached him to convince after a month and half. She told they r looking for another alliance and she would commit suicide if I call him again. The reason boy friend stated is that now he knows he doesn’t need a girl of my type. Then why did he make me wait until I was 27? He used me physically( no penetrative sex) but everything other than that. He used to kiss me on lips even if I didn’t want to. Now I can’t even think of another Man. But he is busy looking out for other girls. Isn’t this cheating? I was mentally abused by him and his family. I do have recording of him talking to me in ill way. If he didn’t want to marry, he shouldn’t have used me, my time, emotions. At least physically he could have not used. Whenever he wanted to kiss, I used to reassure whether this will end in marriage. He would then ask me “wouldn’t u trust”. I wasted 7-8 years. Pls comment
