It is not possible to give accurate reply without more facts on the duration of marriage, and several other details. Assuming both are Hindus then Six after filing if its a mutual consent divorce.For a contested divorce time period cannot be predicted.

Dear client divorce is of two type. One is mutual and other is contested. When husband and wife r ready for divorce then they can file mutual divorce and get divorce in six month. If you are a Hindu or the Marriage is registered under the Special Marriage Act then any divorce Petition can be filed only after a year from the date of marriage.One year separation is required only for mutual consent divorce,further separation in this context means no conjugal relations between husband and wife living separately or under the same roof.In your case it would be calculated from the date you left matrimonial home or he left home .

Once you file application for divorce there will be procedure to conclude. Till that time you can ask for interim Maintainance and within 6-7 months you can be separate from your husband.. there will be counselling as well.. if you are having children then their rights and custody can also be decided at the relevant time

You have not given a detailed info about the date of solemnisation of marriage, religion , grounds for divorce, contested or mutual divorce . However generally divorce by mutual consent takes 6 months from date of filing petition. Contested matter takes time depending upon various factors such as adjournments, availability of Courts, etc.
