On going 125 crpc filed by wife not moving

She filed it after 8 years of separation. She sought 3 dates for her cross examination but never appeared. Now she asked for another date. I had heard that the case gets closed after 3 misses. But my lawyer said it won't be. Please advise what right step should I take?
