Is Notary Divorce Valid in Gujarat? Know the Legal Stand

Dear Sir, I married a woman who was previously divorced, as informed by her brother. However, after marriage, when I requested the divorce papers, they provided a notary divorce document, which I do not accept, and the court also does not recognize.

Can I file for nullity of marriage in this situation? Please guide me on the legal steps I should take.

I understand your concern. Notary divorce is not legally valid; a true divorce must be granted by a family court through a divorce decree. A notary divorce is merely an agreement and holds no legal value for marriage dissolution.
