Advocate Tanu Oza answered
First of all the transfer is transfer. You are eligible to be member. but here the question is what kind of society is it. is it a co. operative housing society or co. operative housing service society.second, get a copy of by laws. what's written there . if they are a service society then they can't charge a one rupee also for share certificate transfer. there are provision about how to get name transferred according to law as per Gujarat Co Operative Societies Act 1961 and Rules
