No Marriage happened but had informal engagement

met a girl last year online .. this is second marriage for both of us . ..started to chat and become close ..met in person this march 2022 and I liked her .. we exchanged garlands on that day no rings since i was not ready..actually, I went to see her the first time and my relative surprised me getting doing all these garland thing. we got close in march and had physical relationship and we planned for marriage in october..we both have kids from first marriage .. unfortunately, my ex-wife opened a compensation case again and I am going through financial difficulty and got into health issue and asked to postpone the marriage until my condition improves .. is there a legal issue I need to be aware of for not marrying ? girl parents are pressing me and emotionally blackmailing to marry asap .. i am US citizen

you have not bigadi married so there is no legal issue in all in this. as far as emotional blackmail is concerned you have to handle it that way only. one suggestion is that you can explain to them your present financial difficulty.

unless you are divorced you can not marry again and it is illegal to do so. First get divorce from your wife before marrying again as it is a criminal offence and your first wife can file a complaint against you.
