Need to enquire about Mutual divorce filing in different state

Our marriage was registered in bhopal (m.p) in 2022. For job I had to move to mumbai in 6months. Can we file for divorce from delhi as going to different state from time to time will be difficult.

Yes you can file a petition in Delhi if you’re residing in Delhi. The Jurisdiction of the Court will apply to and the Court may allow the Petition. However, before filing the Petition you need to showcase documents stating that you are residing in Delhi before the Court.

Yes...you can always file a divorce petition from Delhi. But for that you need to show to the court that you are residing in Delhi through any of your ID card or rent agreement. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Hello, In case you have got married in Bhopal and lived in Mumbai then Bhopal or Mumbai can only be the jurisdiction but in case you have lived in Delhi or currently living then you can file in Delhi.
