Need to check Hotel guest list.

Is there anyway or option where I can legally check the guest list of a hotel for a particular date.

A hotel is a private business detail of a person who stay there as a guest is a confidential matter between that person and the hotel, cannot be disclosed to a third person unless the detail is essential for a criminal investigation. if in a civil case the matter is related to a person who has stayed there to see the details of the guest list you should make that person a defendant and the hotel a witness,

If you have a pending civil/criminal case or intend to start one, a court can order a hotel to produce documents. Civil courts use the CPC discovery/production procedures (Order XI / Order XVI etc.) to compel production; criminal courts can summon documents under Section 91 CrPC where material is “necessary or desirable” for investigation/trial. You normally need to show the documents are relevant to the dispute or investigation.
