Even for approaching court for divorce minimum 1 year of separation is needed. perhaps that may be the reason her lawyer mentioned 1 year to get the divorce through than making you two wait for another 8 months. Its best you discuss with her lawyer and if you are still suspicious of their intent then talk to your lawyer.
