My husband has filed for divorce. I wanted to ask that i don't have any money to hire a lawyer. Are the free lawyers provided by court, competent enough to fight a case, or is there a possibility that they might worsen the case?

Now since your husband has filed for divorce you need to engage a good matrimonial lawyer to cater to the need of your case and effectively represent you before the competent court of law. Free legal aid is available in the court depending upon income criterion. Competency we cant comment up on.

You can always approach the DLSA,i.e. Delhi Legal Service Authority of the court where you husband had filed a case against you and avail free legal services from the advocates who are paid by the state government. But the actual competency depends upon lawyer to lawyer. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

if you hire legal services authority lawyers there are chances situation of your case may get worse. they won't pay much attention to your case. if you live in different state and your case is filed in different state then please file transfer petition in Supreme Court
