Monthly expenses for wife for basic requirements

Hi.. I have been married since 8 years..facing lot of hatred and mental harrasment from both my in laws and husband..been staying at mother's place since 3 years with my 7 year old..complained in police station twice regarding their behaviour..police counseled them and asked me to take me and my son to his house..I would like to know whether can I ask minimal amount like 3000 per month for my basic requirements?! Is there any law that husband should provide some money to his wife ?!

hi yes you could ask for maintenance by filing petition in court on the ground that you do not have sufficient means to maintain yourselves and for the child and his basic expenses and for other needs
