Money transferred after marriage for house expenses is dowry?

15-Nov-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Me and my wife both are job holders. After marriage she contributed some money for house expenses every month. Few years later due to some issue both are living separately and i have filed case for divorce. Now she is claiming that the money transferred during living is dowry. Is it considered as a dowry? please suggest.

Taking care of the house expenses is the duty of the husband and if the wife is contributing in the expenses of the house then its assistance to the husband in maintaining the house. In such case it's called as assistance and not dowry.

Dear Sir, Husband and wife are two faces of one coin. Thus after marriage if wife contributes any amount towards House expenses it cannot be treated as dowry. If any such false case is registered against you then you can approach High court & get it quashed easily
