Married in India & Divorce obtained from USA, Valid in India?


26-Oct-2023 (In Divorce Law)
We got married in India in 2012 and wife moved to USA in 2018, she sent divorce summons from USA last year and I sent back the signed copies. Divorce Decree passed by the court there and I received a soft copy through email. Is it valid in India if I wish to pursue for second marriage? Kindly advise

If the marriage was solmnized in India and if and I think that you are both Hindus in that case the jurisdiction is only of India not of USA you have to file a divorce petition in India as the marriage was Salim nicest in India I have dictated the answers or they may be some typographical error for further details you may contact us I have done lot of cases where the parties are NRIs and the divorce decree is passed in India through Power of attorney thank you

I don’t think that this kind of divorce in accepted in India ! However u need to answer did u registered your marriage in India ? Are you both Hindus ? I need few more details to understand your case ..bcoz according to HMC there must be two motions …
