Leaving home of abusive father and husband

My mother aged 49 and brother aged 19 left my fathers home after being fed up of mental abuse and domestic abuse and peer pressure on my brother for starting work leaving studies. They left a letter explaining why they left and not to contact them again. Will my father be able to register any report with police regarding this? If yes how to counter it.

These days cases can be registered for almost anything under the Sun. He can file matrimonial case against your mother or a case against your brother for leaving him stranded and not maintaining him. Let him take action and then accordingly you can counter.
