Judge questioning about my salary in cross examination

Do judge can ask about the salary that I am drawing ? I refused to say since it is confidential but she insisted me to reveal the salary. Is it possible to put case on the judge how a confidential thing should be questioned

Judge has power to ask your salary and if you do not reveal adverse inference can be drawn against you and if you have lied in your affidavit you can be prosecuted and punished. Secondly you cannot put case on judge
