Is it legal to marry off a girl who is below the age of 18 years ?
10-Dec-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I want to know that is marriage under 18 valid or not? If not then the girl can remarry without giving divorce? Amd what about her baby?
Dear Client,
As per section 5 of the Hindu Marriage Act, for the purpose of marriage, the age of the boy must be 21 years and the girl 18 years. So, if you marry below 18 years of age, then it would come under Child Marriage which is prohibited by law. The girl can't remarry without giving divorce.
