Is it legal to marry off a girl who is below the age of 18 years ?

I want to know that is marriage under 18 valid or not? If not then the girl can remarry without giving divorce? Amd what about her baby?

Dear Client,
As per section 5 of the Hindu Marriage Act, for the purpose of marriage, the age of the boy must be 21 years and the girl 18 years. So, if you marry below 18 years of age, then it would come under Child Marriage which is prohibited by law. The girl can't remarry without giving divorce.

Marriage before 18 yrs is valid and punishable with 1 thousand rupees or 1 month imprisonment or both.i girl wants to remarriage than it can be possible only after divorce. Her baby is legitimate child and mother and father both r liable to look after that baby.
