In Laws Harassment to My Family- Legal Advice

24-Nov-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I am hindu. Married. No Kids. My Father is a 72 year old. I as a husband/son want to ask: My in-laws (wife's parents) are harassing my father for small small issues between husband-wife. Because of my in-laws behaviour my father is getting lot of stress and it is affecting his health and I am very disappointed. Is there any legal law to protect my father? Can I involve police? I am personally being silent to avoid any legal implications.

Well, you can definitely involve Police. However before involving Police, you can send your In Laws a Legal Notice in which you can legally warn them via me or any other Advocate for stop mental harrasment of your father, otherwise Civil and Criminal Cases can or will be filed against them.

hello, Advocate Minakshi Ovhal-Dakhane here, you can file NC against her at nearest police station. Any person harassing senior citizens can be brought under Section 506 for criminal intimidation. - If the person is very abusive or utters or recites obscene words and mentally tortures senior citizens, a case under Section 294 can be bought. for any further legal information you can contact me. Thank you.
