If I get divorced in Taiwan, will that be recognised in India ?

I'm getting divorce in Taiwan. Does Indian government recognise the divorce in Taiwan? If not what is the procedure.? Thanks team law.

Depends upon your nationality. If you are an indian citizen living in abroad then you must take divorce in india or any court in abroad which recognizes divorce under hindu marriage act. First of all clarify your religion or else i cannot clarify your doubt. If at all you are a Hindu, then you must seek divorce in india if you are an nri or an overseas citizen.

I have read Ur query.as Ur saying that u going to get Ur divorce decree finalised from Taiwan.in this condition will Ur divorce will be valid in India or not.for this question I can say it can be valid and it can be in valid as the supreme court of India have laid certain guideline for this purpose so I have to through those guideline for solve Ur question .

No there is no issue. However your papers will have to be seen. But where did you get married? Under what law? All this will have to be seen before I can properly guide you. Request you to kindly send the same.
