Under Indian law, the legal age for marriage is 18 years for females and 21 years for males. As you were married at the age of 17.6 years, you were a minor at the time of marriage, and the marriage would be considered voidable at your option. If you wish to seek a divorce, you can approach the court to file for annulment of the marriage. An annulment is a legal procedure that declares a marriage null and void, as if it never happened. You would need to prove that you were a minor at the time of the marriage and that you were not capable of giving your consent. Alternatively, you can also file for a divorce on the grounds of cruelty or desertion, if applicable. However, it is important to note that divorce can be a lengthy and emotionally draining process, and it is advisable to seek the guidance of a lawyer who specializes in family law to understand the legal options available to you and to represent you in court. You can also seek counseling or support from family, friends, or a mental health professional to help you cope with the emotional stress of the situation. It is important to prioritize your own well-being and make decisions that are in your best interest.
