First of all it is important that whether we want divorce or not
And another thing is that if your son in law has filed divorce petition against your daughter then we have to appear in this case and we have to proceed the matter and similarly if your daughter is suffering from the domestic violence by in laws then we have to take an action against in laws muffling the domestic violence case and another cases for physical and mental torture

To avoid a divorce petition you should bring your son in law and your daughter at any marriage counselor to try whether there is any possibility to avoid such a hard decision of divorce a marriage counselor will charge his fees for counselling but he will try his best to avoid search divorce proceeding.

It is your daughter who has to save the marriage not you
On what grounds is the son in-law claiming divorce that is important for me to solve the problem .
As giving vague answer is not proper.hence kindly mention on what grounds .
Secondly relations ship between husband and wife are very personal and not being blood related they are sensitive based upon mutual understanding and trust ,love ,in fact it is symbiotic relationship.where both are benefited .if either of the partner feel he is not benefited and the other party is liablity with nuisance value .then Divorce proceedings are filed.so understand this basic facts of relationship and analyse the issue you may succeed in resolving .the third aspect is Dil to pagal Hai even after marriage he is in affair and wants to get rid of your daughter then better not save the marriage it is bound to break.
