There is no fixed formula for alimony. Courts consider your income, assets, marriage duration, wife's earning capacity, and child's needs. For a 12-year marriage, ₹20L may be fair if your means are modest, but low if substantial. Child maintenance is separate and cannot be waived by the wife. Best route: mutual consent divorce with a written MoU covering lump-sum to wife, child's maintenance and education, custody, visitation, and full and final settlement. Disclose finances honestly.

Hello, since you separated from 12 years and you have kid offering mutual consent or dissolution of marriage,... when your wife is working or home maker it depends upon that...if really want to rejoin means take pre mediation.....

In Response to you query that “I'm offering 20L as have one kid staying with my wife. We have been married since 12 years and separated but I meet once in a while either for mutual or reconciliation chance Is that more or less?” TERMS of MtCD all depends on situation and willingness of both party to comment on amicable settlement without rigorous court process, financial conditions, and many more negotiation process. It all can be suggested once full facts and conditions analysed.
