Permanent alimony is concern it is an accepted amount between the parties the said may be mentioned in the mutual consent petition as permanent alimony. If there is no such alimony is paid to the wife and if she is an unemployed then she can file the petition for maintenance and court may order 1/3 amount on the income of husband as a maintenance to the wife and the husband has to pay the maintenance amount fixed by the court on every month.

Well, the amount of maintenance and other arrangements form part and parcel of the agreed terms. The parties have to mutually agree to the demand placed by other part before presenting the petition. On the date of evidence after six months either part have to fulfill your agreed terms.

If you are filing for divorce by mutual consent then both the parties can decide and agree for any amount. There is no calculations involved. If the Wife is not claiming any alimony then the husband need not give any alimony. Only if the wife wants alimony then the husband can bargain for the alimony and try to reduce the amount.
