How can I bring my marriage an end and live a peaceful life

Myself and husband are living under the same roof. though he keeps on travelling. We are married for almost 18 years and have compatibility issues. I want to bring it to an end and live a peaceful life. My 17 year son studying outside the city and daughter is 10 years old . Please advise how to proceed further. Can I file the case without hiring the lawyer.

as it is 18 years of marriage so chances of reconciliation are very low. anyways, you can file case (divorce) after having a chat with your husband. the best way to get divorce is mutual consent divorce as it take less time i.e. 6 months only.
can you mention the reason why do you want to proceed without lawyer.

Hi,
File a maintenance and can file for divorce and if thier is a cruelity you are suffering then file a case under 498 a ipc and D.V act and engage a lawyer from legal aid. thanks

Taking your last question first. Yes, you can file a case without engaging a lawyer. If you want to take divorce you have to have a ground for doing so. If incompatibility is the issue then I am sure even your husband may be feeling it. In that case best is to file for divorce by mutual consent.
