Greedy, abusive but influential husband and in laws

19-Nov-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Married less than year through matrimonial site "jeevansathi.com". Presently we both are working in government jobs. His family is also well settled. Husband stayed separately in the same house on the pretext of preparation of civil services exam. Has cleared DSP in state services, to join soon. In-laws and husband initially created petty issues and kicked me out of home after 5 months. Kept asking about ancestral properties. Tried mediation through families. Somehow went back after 4 months, then direct demands about money, said you don't have sufficient ancestral property. Became hostile and violent. attacked to physically harm. Called police and came back. Now I am not sure they will give divorce easily but I am too scared to life with them without a threat to my life. I don't have much support. Father is no more. No siblings either. Don't want a long drawn legal battle. Please suggest possible options. Matrimonial home in Delhi. Maternal home in NCR(UP).

If you have finalised that you don’t want to live with your husband then mutual divorce is the quickest option available. Else you have got many options like filing for DV in which you can claim maintenance for you. And if you were physically abused then you can always register a FIR against the culprits.
