General Question regarding removal of Spouse Name from Passport.

I have a general question regarding removal of Spouses Name from Passport. My Brothers wife has abandoned him for over 5 or 6 years now with no contact whatsoever. Is it possible to remove her name from my Brothers Passport by submitting an Affidavit on Annexure K at the Passport Office. Will this work if we don't have any Official Divorce Document?

I understand yout quiery so you want to delete your brother name his passport right with out any legal document it is not ?possible to delete wife name means yor brother will take a legaly divorce and get court decree copy you can show the decree . copy of beforepasport office then they will delete her name thank you

Dear Sir, Normally, the passport authorities are not suppose to remove the name of spouse unless there is decree of divorce from a Family Court. You may get issue a legal notice if any such thing happens and can restore the name of the spouse in the passport records.
