If your dowry case is still pending without progress, you should approach the trial court or the supervising High Court to seek directions for expeditious disposal. Delay in investigation or trial can be challenged through a petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution or Section 482 CrPC. As regards counter-claims filed against you, it is a common defence strategy. Such cases must be contested by producing strong documentary and witness evidence. If the counter cases are false and malicious, you may move an application for discharge or even seek quashing before the High Court. Simultaneously, you may file a complaint under Section 211 IPC (false charge) and seek relief for malicious prosecution. Engage an experienced criminal lawyer to handle both the dowry prosecution and defence in the counter-cases, ensuring that your rights are not prejudiced by delay or false litigation.

If you have filed a case in court through your lawyer, talk to your lawyer. The other party has received notice of the case and is not present in court through his lawyer or in person, then you can get an order from the court to proceed with the case ex parte. And you can proceed with your case. Call for more information.
