in this situation you just need to make her understand that you have made a mistake by chatting to that girl and you are sorry for it. As the act of yours was not with any intention to cheat her it just happened with the flow.

You should immediately file a written complaint against that girl that she is destroying your matrimonial life. And address it to the nearest police station of your area. You can also send her a legal notice if you don’t wish to go legal. In that notice you can write to disappear from your life. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

You need to hire an advocate in this regard and then your advocate will draft one apprehension intimation …which you have to submit to the concerned police station …else that lady may implicate you in any false case … this is the only best option you can get the moment …thank you and be in touch

Without commenting on the moral aspect of your case, I opine that your first endeavour should be to come clean so that your wife could be more willing to hear from you, the fact that numbers were not exchanged and that it was a one off delinquency on your part( assuming that's the case). Now, your concern should be as to what all actions your wife can rightfully initiate. Advice- Think at peace, the consequences this incident can cause. You need marriage counselor more than a lawyer right now. You should not go on searching for legal answers to your problem on the internet. Your problem is less legal and more that of a human relationship and lawyers could be pretty bad counselors(pun intended). Hope you will be able to correct the course your life has taken.
