Divorce within 10 months of marriage

We are hindu gujarati and she is married to marathi family. My sister got married last December, but she was not treated well at her in laws house and then, she was compelled to leave and go back to her parents's house. And they never reached for any settlement and always treated rudely when we reached out. On what grounds can we file for a divorce. Also there was a huge financial stake of us in the marriage So can we get some compensation?

yes you can claim there are grounds of divorce Lin the law and to which ground your case fits or if the lawyer can befitted it in other than to what you have. don't worry there is remedy available the only this you need a good and swift lawyer to conclude the matter as early as possible.

First of all let me clear if they are not behaving properly and deserted you sister then you have two options first your sister can move with criminal application under the provisions of Domestic Violence Act and and second she can file divorce Petition on the ground of cruelty and desertion and can claim permanent alimony for her entire life.
