Deliberate concealment of Facts.

08-Jul-2023 (In Divorce Law)
The marriage was conducted as per Hindu rites and ceremonies. However it was not legally registered. After eight months the wife is not willing to live with husband. nThe consent of the marriage was obtained by concealing the fact that she was previously involved in a criminal case for assaulting a minor child in previous marriage. Can I file for annulment?

Registration of marriage is not necessary for claiming validity for the marriage which is already conducted as per valid religious rites. Even if the marriage is not registered as per common rules, obtaining divorce through court of law is mandatory for legal separation. wilful concealment of facts amount to ground for divorce. Mere involvement in a criminal case is not a ground for divorce, but purposeful concealment of the same can be a ground.
