Defamation due to relatives _near in-laws

One of my relative as I had denied his marriage proposal bad-mouthed me near my in-laws in my absence without my knowledge. From then my in-laws have been putting me to mental tochure and agony . How can I prove myself and how can I get the statement and version of my relative who had wantedly done it. My in-laws are not in a position to accept it. Is there a way I can prove myslf

If the behaviour of your in-laws are not acceptable to you and are mentally harassing you then you can always file a DV case against them. And if you don’t want to go legal against them then you must get hold of that relative who put that oil in fire.

If your image has been tarnished and you have been subjected to cruelty because of the said bad mouthing, you can sue the opposite side for defamation. Case can be better strategised after a detailed consultation on facts. Please feel free to contact Thanks
