Defamation against my boss for acting on an email to malign my image

20-Apr-2026 (In Divorce Law)
I filed 498a in 2015 and the case is still going on. I missed the last couple of hearings so the court has issued a non bailable warrant against me. So, i will appear on the next hearing. Now, my husband sent an email to my office informing them about NBW and my boss sent an open letter to me informing me about it. This has caused a loss of reputation at work. Can I take a legal action against my boss Since he acted on an individual's email. It was not sent by the court or police dept.

Yes, you can take legal action if the communication was unnecessary, malicious, or intended to damage your reputation at workplace. If your husband deliberately sent such email to defame you, and your employer circulated it publicly, you may explore remedies for defamation, harassment, breach of privacy, or mental agony depending on facts.
