Counter to the divorce filed by husband (Contested divorce)
13-Jun-2025 (In Divorce Law)
My husband filed divorce petition and is managing my lawyer, who is reluctant to prepare counter and submit to court even after paying full amount of his legal fees. Court has provided sufficient time, but still he is not responding. I think my lawyer has been colluded with my husband.
My question is whether can I personally submit my counter (Counter prepared by me personally) to judge on hearing date without aid of my lawyer. Will judge/court accept that??
Thank you
Dear Madam,
When your Advocate is on record you cannot file your counter directly but you can file it if you terminate the services of your Advocate by issuing a notice and copy of the same to be produced before the Court. You may either appoint another Advocate and contest the case as party-in-person.
