31-Mar-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Married in the Uae for more than 25 years my husband walked out in 2019 , he applied for divorce under Hindu law here but then converted to Muslim and applied under sharia law. The court here declared our marriage of 25 years null and void because of the difference in religions. nHe wants to remarry his new Indian girlfriend and openly posts with her on social media. nThey are about to marry in summer. Isint this bigamy as our Hindu marriage is not dissolved still. nWhat should be my next step.

Dear Queriest as mentioned that he had converted Muslim from Hindu religion and then applied for Divorce is itself not valid as per law since you and he married as per Hindu religion to make your marriage null and void he took this step but in eyes of law itself is not valid, you have to make an appeal before the appellate court.

With reference to your query you can need go for appeal against the order of the court and till the appeal is pending it is presumed that the marriage is subsisting. Further you can also apply for maintenance of the children and inform the court that he intends to get married regards
