Contested Divorce one side got married for a year and living seperatel

10-Jul-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I had a girlfriend and we were in a relationship. Her family fixed marriage with another guy and she stopped marriage and filed a case against me under false marriage act. After that we got register marriage. After one week of marriage, I left to UK to pursue for my master's and no communication with my wife because I was not interested to marry her. After a year I came to India and now I want a divorce and I don’t want to live with her. I asked her for a mutual divorce and she is not ready and what I have to do now. How long process for the contested divorce because it has been only a year and month since we got married and no communication with her (no calls, messages, or what's app) and living separately. I’m unemployed and she is working in Tata Consultancy services and I don’t have any assets belongs to me. After marriage, we didn’t have any physical relationship. Also due to my studies in the UK can I file a petition and transfer my power of attorney to my father and leave India?

Yes, you can file a divorce petition here through POA to your father. Timeframe cannot be given in case of court proceedings. But you can proceed with your career abroad. Only for certain stage of the court proceeding you need to appear and that can be arranged according to your convenience.
