Child is born in the US, currently in India

Hello, my friends got married in India 10 years ago and moved to US. 7 years ago they gave birth to a baby boy. They had some differences and my female friend and her child moved to India 3 years ago. Now they want to proceed for divorce. What happens to the child custody? Wanted to know details about this.

hi if you proceed for divorce in India then the child custody would be decided based on the situations and age of girl if he is minor then the custody will usually remain with mother and if there is threat from father then you could file custody petition
