first the case is registered then the petitioner appears on the date which is given to the petitioner the judge thereafter issues summons to the respondent to appear in person or by way of an advocate to file their written statement/ reply, it's always advisable to appear through an advocate.

Summons are usually issued after registration of the case, along with or before the first date. In many courts, summons are prepared once the case is admitted and then made returnable on the first hearing date. So practically, the other party will receive summons before or around the first date, not after it.

Summons are usually issued after registration/scrutiny of the case, often before or along with the first hearing date. In many courts, they are sent soon after filing, not waiting for the first date as per the concerned provisions of law.

During the first Hearing, the Advocate will have to appear and seek a direction for issuance of Summons, after which Summons will be issued, your lawyer will be required to submit a copy of the Petition with the Bailiff who will serve the Summons along with copy of the Petition.
