Cancellation of marriage just 20 days before because of dowry

Groom side cancelled the marriage just 20 days before it was scheduled .All the arrangements were made by my father . Payment for everything was done like caterer photographer invitation cards were also printed all our shopping was done .and all of a sudden groom's father called out marriage by giving excuse that we have a standard and you are not giving us gifts as per our reputation in society although it was made clear by my father that we can't afford high dowry although we had done our best

You can file police complaint for dowry and cruelty and for unnecessary demands, you have reserved all your rights to recover the money from them and to compensate the loss caused due to their act you can also claim for defamation from Them
