Can we use another word of Virgin in "Marital status of wife"?

16-Sep-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Sir, As i’m filing Mutual Divorce petition, in the column of “marital status of wife before marriage” is written as Virgin, but Wife is forcing not to write Virgin in marital status before marriage. She is insisting to write alternate word in that place i.e. Bachelorette/unmarried/single. But my lawyer is denying to write these words saying it’s not legal language and if he writes such words the Judge will be angry. Nd wife saying she won’t sign if Virgin word is not replaced. So, Can we use alternate word which can be used in Divorce petition in Marital status column of wife. Please help, Thank you

Hi, You can write single/spinster/ unmarried , all are one of the same thing , Judge will not object to this, purpose of this is to just bring the status in the knowledge of court . Thanks and regards Ramit Sehrawat Advocate
